I was offered a position with Pueblo School District 60, what's next?

First off, congratulations!  When offers are made to potential employees, they are conditional on certain steps that must be completed for the offer to be finalized.  All employees need to be fingerprinted to complete a background check.  Some positions require a lift test.  When offered a position, a hiring manager will provide a form that you can bring in to the Human Resources Office.  Once we have that form, we will complete the required fingerprinting and background check.  After that, the wait is on us.  We will contact you with next steps.  If there are questions feel free to call Pam Lucero at 719-549-7138.

When do I get my first paycheck?

Employees are paid on the last working day of each month.  Payroll periods are from the 8th of one month to the 7th of the next.  If an employee is hired and works during a payroll period, they will be paid at the end of that month.  For example, if an employee begins work on April 4th, they will be paid on April 30. However, if an employee began April 10, they would not receive their first paycheck until May 31.

How much leave do I have left?

Leave is tracked in the Payroll Department.  Please call them at 719-549-7118

I moved/changed my name. How do I change my personal information with the District?

Forms to change personal information can be found in the Payroll Office.

Do I have to be a member of the Union?

Because of a recent Supreme Court case, employees cannot be forced to join a union or to pay representation fees.  Not every position or group of employees is represented by collective bargaining.  Employees in a position represented by a union may join but should contact their respective association if they would like to know more. Employees who are members of a union and would like to revoke their membership and stop paying dues, should refer to their negotiated agreement for details.

Can I be an employee of the District and take on a second assignment like coaching?

Unfortunately, at this time the answer is no.  Because of complicated ACA and overtime regulations, the District does not allow classified, or ESP, employees take on a second assignment.
